i think we hiked all around that cemetery...we got there at maybe 1:45 and stayed til 5 pm. here are the pictures...
^sarah took my picture in this grave marked simply 'augustus'. i think mr. augustus wanted people to come and appreciate his grave b/c there's a little bench inside!
^here is a statue of the arch angel micheal. he looks very menacing.
^a baby and a lamb.
^lake view has these markers for the more popular gravesites.
^this memorial is near the front of the cemetery. it was erected to remember the teachers and children who lost their lives in the collinwood school fire. i don't know much about the fire except that it was in 1908...on the back lists all the names of the people who perished.
^president garfield's memorial.
^look! an orb over garfield's coffin.
i was not about to leave lake view w/o finding the haserot angel. why is that? you ask...
just look at the angel herself:
^john d. rockefeller obelisk.
^lady holding a torch.
^wade chapel. cost 200,000 bucks back in 1901 which was a fortune...you'll see why it cost so much...
^tiffany's glass window.
^tiffany mosaic...each color is a tiny piece of glass!
after going to lake view we decided to check out erie cemetery since it is close by. we found it and it was open. i took a bunch of pictures there, but after uploading and rotating about 90 some pictures already i am in no mood to do more, haha.
i'll post them later on though.
i wish i knew html or ANYTHING about webpages b/c i really want to make a cemetery site of my own.
ps. i took waaaaaaaaaaay more pictures at lake view than what is posted here. if you want to see more go here: lake view cemetery
also, when you're done looking at the lake view pictures, click on 'back to my photos' at the top and you'll see all the albums of every cemetery that i have been to thus far in my career of cemetery exploring!
